At Avalon Lipo & Aesthetics, liposuction is what we do. We specialize in this body contouring procedure to help our patients remove stubborn, pockets of unwanted fat in areas all over the body. We understand how annoying these deposits of fat can be; even those who regularly diet and exercise are prone to fatty buildups. Gaining fat is an unfortunate reality of getting older and that's why we offer advanced techniques to trim and tone your figure.
Our dual-certified cosmetic surgeon Dr. Reza Tirgari has extensive experience in many different methods of liposuction, even having studied under the founder of tumescent liposuction early in his career. Because of this experience, you can trust that your cosmetic concerns will be heard and a caring, professional approach will be taken to meet your aesthetic needs.
We encourage our potential patients to come to us with a healthy curiosity regarding their procedure. We believe that an informed patient is a happy patient as they know what the treatment entails and what to expect. During your comprehensive consultation, Dr. Tirgari is happy to answer any questions and concerns you may have regarding liposuction.
Below we list some examples of the most common questions we receive from patients, including:
How long does the procedure take?
The length of the procedure varies depending on the amount of liposuction being performed. It can be as short as 30-40 minutes for one treatment area or up to three hours for multiple areas.
How many areas can be treated at once?
For most people, up to three areas can be treated in one session. If you require more than three we recommend having a second session about a month after to allow your body to recover.
How much fat is removed in a session?
It's important to note that liposuction is not meant as a weight loss solution and patients should be at or near a healthy weight. That being said, the amount of fat removed depends on the treatment area. Generally, one to two liters of fat is removed per area.
How much fat can be removed at once?
The maximum amount of fat that can be safely removed at once is up to five liters, which is the equivalent of nearly 11 lbs. This is not to say that is how much your doctor will remove at once. The amount of fat removed in each treatment area is dependent on your figure and your aesthetic goals.
These are just a few of the most common questions we receive during our patient consultations. Again, we encourage all patients to research before they decide on a specific treatment and come to us with as many questions as possible. We want everyone who comes to Avalon Lipo & Aesthetics to not only look good but feel good about their decision as well.
