What is Thigh Liposuction?

Once you’ve consulted with Dr. Tirgari, he will assess the amount of fat that can be reduced from the different regions of your thighs. For instance, it is important to ensure that the anterior part of the thighs remains smooth, to enhance the contour of the legs. On the other hand, performing liposuction on the inner thighs can lessen the friction between these surfaces when you are walking, thus providing more comfort.

Lastly, liposuction is done on the outer thighs because they appear to be the most resistant to dieting and exercise. To perform liposuction on any part of the thighs, we use the most advanced SmartLipo technique in combination with tumescent liposuction. Please read the paragraphs below to learn more about this body contouring treatment.

Are You the Ideal Candidate?

This procedure is recommended for clients who are close to their ideal body weight but are having difficulty targeting the fat deposits on their thighs by exercising or dieting. It is not advisable for obese people and or those who are suffering from serious illnesses of the heart.

When you visit us for your initial consultation, you can inform Dr. Tirgari of all your health conditions, so he can further assess your qualification to undergo this procedure. Our goal is to ensure your total peace of mind, so we’ll work with you to explore the various forms of liposuction we offer, and guide you to the procedure that’s right for you.

Your In-Person Consultation

We offer consultation appointments in San Diego and Carlsbad for patients who wish to undergo liposuction of the thighs or any other area of the body. The purpose of this initial appointment is to ensure you are a good candidate, that you are fully informed, and that you are comfortable with our surgeon.

At your consultation, we will make sure that all of your questions have been answered and that all of your concerns are addressed before, during, and after surgery. Thighs Liposuction Procedure

Liposuction of the thighs can be done in one to three hours depending on the amount of fat that needs to be reduced. Dr. Tirgari will be giving you a sedative to help you feel relaxed throughout the surgery. He will also be using a local anesthetic on the areas that will be treated, this is known as tumescent liposuction. Dr. Tirgari has trained under the founder of this liposuction technique so you can rest assured you are in good hands.

After that, Dr. Tirgari will start inserting the laser cannula into the incision sites and move the instrument back and forth. The laser aids in breaking up the fat for easy removal. Once the fat deposits are melted, they will be suctioned out from the subcutaneous layer of the skin using the same hand-held suctioning device. You will be given in-office recovery time before you are sent home with your home care regimen plan and post-surgery medications.
