Address Those Frustrating Pockets of Fat

If you experienced a sudden weight gain or have always struggled with fat deposits affecting specific areas of the body, then the best way to get rid of the extra pounds will be to start exercising and having a balanced diet. However, there are some of us who are genetically predisposed to storing fat in some parts of our bodies. Since it’s genetics, no amount of dieting and working out at the gym will help us get rid of the unwanted fat in these areas. For this reason, Avalon Lipo & Aesthetics is offering its most advanced liposuction procedure: tumescent liposuction. This procedure utilizes local anesthesia to ensure that your recovery time is minimal, so you can quickly return to your normal schedule while showing off a more fit and toned look. To learn more, reach out to us at our San Diego location and set up your initial consultation with a helpful member of our team.

What Is Tumescent Liposuction?

Tumescent liposuction improves upon traditional liposuction with the use of local anesthesia called lidocaine. This helps us to keep recovery times to a minimum. Our patients love it for this very reason, and it is currently the most-performed technique.

You’ll love tumescent liposuction because:

  • It provides adequate numbness in the target area
  • It has less downtime as compared to undergoing general anesthesia
  • Possible complications after surgery are minimized
  • The recovery period is around two to three days after having surgery

An Exciting Alternative

Tumescent liposuction allows you to remain awake during surgery yet feel no discomfort. It also aids in healing and eliminates any complications associated with general anesthesia, including severe digestive problems. If you’d like to learn more about tumescent liposuction and how it can help you enjoy exciting results with minimal downtime, we invite you to reach out to Avalon Lipo & Aesthetics at our San Diego location and set up your consultation with a helpful member of our team today.

The Tumescent Liposuction Procedure

The only discomfort that you may experience during the procedure is when a thin needle is used for anesthesia administration. It is inserted on the subcutaneous or fatty layer of the skin and feels just like a small injection you may receive at the dentist’s office or during immunization. The anesthesia makes the area totally numb in less than a minute. It also helps slightly separate the fat layer from the muscle layer. If you are nervous, we can give you an oral sedative to help you relax.

Once the anesthesia has fully taken effect on the target areas, Dr. Tirgari will make small incisions and insert the laser liposuction device to melt the fat cells. This is done by inserting and pulling the liposuction device until all fatty areas are broken up. Once this step is done, a small cannula is used to suction the fat out of the body. The remaining fat will then be processed through the liver after liposuction, for a permanent reduction of the presence of fat cells in the treatment area.

At Avalon Lipo & Aesthetics, we combine the laser liposuction device, known as Smart Lipo surgery, with the tumescent technique, allowing us to treat our patients safely and with minimal discomfort or prolonged recovery, all while delivering excellent body slimming and skin tightening results. During your consultation, we’ll be sure to walk you through every aspect of your upcoming procedure, while also giving you a clear idea of what you can expect from your recovery period and final results.
