When considering the best time to do liposuction, common wisdom states that the most important factor to consider is the size of the body area to be done and how much time can be allotted for healing. For small areas, liposuction can be done virtually anytime, since healing time required is minimal. If larger, or multiple areas are to be done, it is wise to allot enough time for healing before embarking on any vacations, etc.

Typically, patients have chosen to receive lipo either a few months before the summertime, or during the holidays, when they are able to take time away from work. Patients can typically expect for healing to take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months, with the tiny cannula incisions becoming virtually invisible 2 months after the procedure. This is important, especially before the summer season, since by then, healing will have fully occurred and patients can then expose their bodies without worrying that the lipo incisions will show. Liposuction has now become such a commonly performed procedure, with so many improvements in recovery, healing and other factors, the question of when is the best time has now become much more of a personal preference.
